Crab Spiders on Flowers

I’ve realised I have a collection brewing of crab spiders posing pretty on flowers.

Misumena vatia is how these little white spiders are classified. They are often referred to, aptly, as flower spiders because they do not produce webs and instead find themselves homes inside flowers. I don’t blame them at all, I would make the same choice if given the chance.

My garden is home to many crab spiders, most of them of the white “ghost” variety. I am always happy to see them and love to stop and watch them. They are real daredevils and love doing dramatic acrobatics.
