Artober 2025

26 – Second go with Golden Soflat paints. Much more transparent than acyrlic gouache so far, and definitely not intended to be used with water. I’ll try it with super matte medium next time.

25 – I tried to be quick, but it ends up being poorly proportioned. I need to find a balance between expressive and accurate.

24 – Isra

23 – Patti in a mac in the pouring rain. Very strange.

22 – Another quick kiss, but this time brighter.

21 – A kiss among the leaves.

20 – A quick sketch of Paul and Marcel.

19 – My first go with Golden Soflat paints.

18 – A painting from yesterday’s sketch.

17 – Mort and Mina.

16- A quick test of the luminous Holbein watercolors. Blacklight painting is one of my new favourite things of all time lately.

15 – Trying to be more expressive with oil pastels. I’m trying to be more expressive with everything, really.

14 – Mysty and the old oil lamp.

13 – The most slapdash Artober yet, perhaps. Mort and Jon in the forest.

12 – The 5th or 6th best day of Rhys’ life.

11 – An underpainting of Brigg and Keti. Not sure which direction I want to go, but it counts for the day.

10 – Dana again, this time with Caran d’Ache Pablos drawn over Lefranc & Bourgeois vinyl paint.

09 – Mort at the diner. I used up my last of the bronze canvases!

08 – Jon and a quilt. Used the Irodori set of gouache again for this one.

07 – A short comic. Perhaps too short.

06 – A real quick digital sketch of a kind of neat tale I once wrote.

05 – Mort and Chastity looking for frogs and finding worms. Maimeri Polycolor vinyl paint.

04 – A still life of some acorns in a bowl.

03 – Mort and Mysty in Beddgelert. Gouache on cotton paper. I used the Holbein Irodori Autumn Set for this one.

02 – The cats in gouache.

01 – Dana in autumn, wearing a great jumper. Done with Turner Japanesque Acryl Gouache.
