Diamine Inferno Orange

  • Colour: Bright, beautiful yellow-orange with gold shimmer.
  • Special Attributes:
    • Shade: Yes.
    • Sheen: No.
    • Shimmer: Yes, gold shimmer.
  • Watercolour Usage: This ink works really well with water. I didn’t try to fade it to white, but I think it would be possible. However, since there is shimmer, the gold will settle in to the deepest pools of water.
  • Harkens to Mind: Gold, stylised fire, pumpkins, early October.
  • Similar to: It’s like Diamine Blaze orange but with glitter, and a much brighter, lighter, and warmer version of Herbin Cornaline d’Egypt.
  • Expense: $20USD/50ml, but £9/50ml as of 2022.
  • Example: The bright, golden goddess Cher.

Look at that shimmer shine!

Verdict

Even though it’s beautiful without a doubt, it bothers me how lightweight the shimmer particles are. They need to be shaken often. I drew this with a dip pen and a paintbrush through on of those sample vials and I needed to cap it and shake it constantly. Then, the shimmer pools it to the wettest bits. It also comes off on my fingers now that it’s dried. No doubt is it gorgeous and bright, but those things can be a bit annoying.
