Jacques Herbin Cornaline d'Egypt - My Many Muses
Ink

Jacques Herbin Cornaline d’Egypt

  • Colour: Orange with silver shimmer.
  • Special Attributes:
    • Shade: Definitely.
    • Sheen: No.
    • Shimmer: Silver shimmer.
  • Watercolour Usage: It works very well with water. I was able to get many interesting effects from making a wash to those hydrophobic splotches. It will remove hard lines.
  • Harkens to Mind: Campfire under twilight; venus rising at sunset, carnelian (good job).
  • Similar to: Diamine Autumn Oak is less brown than this (and sans shimmer).
  • Expense: ~$30/50ml as of 2022.
  • Example: The title simply says “Femme égyptienne.”

Verdict

I have a big bottle of this and keep it inked up in a Cross Wanderlust pen (the Antelope Canyon version) at all times. Gold is my favourite type of shimmer but this just works so well with silver. I haven’t met an Herbin ink that I don’t like.
